Empowering Local Charities Through Music
At Cadence, we believe in the power of music to bring about positive change. Our collective, rooted in the vibrant community of Bournemouth, is committed to using our voices and talents to support local charity. We carefully select our songs that resonate with our mission, using them as a tool to raise awareness and funds for an important cause.

Harmonising for a Cause
Cadence is supporting Julia's House.
Julia’s House is not a typical children’s hospice. They provide practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at their hospices.
In November 2024 a few Cadence members attended an open day at Julia’s House.
We were shown all of the special facilities that donations help to fund. These facilities make life just that little better for families at their most vulnerable time.
Here’s what Lianne had to say about it.
"Julia's House is a beacon of hope for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. The compassionate care and support they provide not only creates a safe and nurturing environment but also helps families build precious memories during difficult times. Our charity single is a testament to their incredible work, and we are committed to raising funds to ensure they can continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children.”
Julia's house need our support to continue the incredible work they do.
- Did you know that Julia’s House only get around 8% of government funding a year?
- They heavily rely on the support of the community for more than 90% of the funds needed each year to help them run this vital service.
At our Christmas Fundraiser 2025, we were honoured, once again, to welcome Martin Edwards, CEO of Julia’s House.
Martin’s speeches are always moving, always honest, and always rooted in deep compassion. But this time, he did something unexpected.
He took the word CADENCE and turned it into an acrostic poem, using each letter of our name to reflect what Julia’s House stands for, the families it supports, and the children at the heart of everything they do. It was thoughtful, gentle, and incredibly powerful.
So here it is, a gift to Cadence, and a beautiful reflection of the work of Julia’s House:
C – Compassion – in our work and your desire to help support it.
A – Angels – our nurses – the ‘angels who are meant to stay’.
D – Delight – on the children’s faces as they arrive for respite & play sessions.
E – Empty beds – 1 in 5 hospice beds nationally, which we must not let happen here.
N – No one left out – our service supports parents and young carers/siblings too.
C – Childhood – which we give back to the children & siblings through play & outings.
E – Echo – the influence each departed child still has on us, and the memory of your music that echoes long after the final note.
This poem captures, so simply and so beautifully, why we support Julia’s House, and why this partnership means so much to us. We are endlessly grateful to Martin for his words, his presence, and his unwavering support of Cadence.
Some moments stay with you. This was one of them.
